What Personal Data We Collect And Why We Collect It

Email Contact Form

We have two types of contact forms on this website: a simple one for general enquiries and a more expanded one for booking purposes. All forms are managed using the plugin Formidable, which saves the messages also in the website’s database (this is needed to be able to process requests more efficently). To prevent spammers from flooding our inbox we use the reCAPTCHA service by Google.

What data do we collect:

General enquiries: for this form we only require your name, email address and optionally a phone number. This data is needed to be able to communicate with you and will be saved both to the website’s database and locally on our computer (email client)

Booking form: This form also asks you for the number of guests (both grown ups and children) and the arrival and departure dates. This data is needed to be able to process the booking request and will be saved both to the website’s database, locally on our computer (email client) and potentially printed on paper.

While WordPress does not set any cookies that can track you, the website employs several third-party services that store the following cookies, which can potentially track you:

  • General cookies by Google
  • Google Fonts ( These are cookies required to use Google’s free webfont service, which is built into the theme we use. Of course we all know that Google uses these to track you, we do not have any access to whatever data Google is mining through these cookies. The Google Fonts functionality is hardcoded into the theme, so for now there’s little we can do about it.
  • Google Maps ( Even if we don’t use this functionality on the side, it’s built into he theme we use and can’t be removed.
More info on Google’s privacy policy can be found here: Google Privacy Policy
  • BootstrapCDN. The theme we use is based on the popular Bootstrap framework by Twitter. The framework sets a tracking cookie. Which data and how  Il “theme” è basato sul popolare framework Bootstrap sviluppato da Twitter. Il framework salva un cookie di tracciamento, quali dati vengono e rilevati e come si può leggere qui: Bootstrapcdm Privacy Policy

BTW. We recommend to install the free Privacy Badger extension for Chrome/Firefox by Electronic Frontier Foundation to block common tracking cookies around the web!
